About Wrdio
Wrdio is a free, private way to open, create and edit .docx documents in your browser.
Why it exists
Opening a document shouldn't mean installing software, creating an account, or uploading private files to a stranger's server. Wrdio does the work on your own device, so your document stays with you.
How it works
- Read at once. Drop a .docx onto the page and it appears in a moment.
- Edit when you need to. Press Edit for a full word processor. It saves as .docx, exports to PDF and other formats, and prints.
- Nothing is uploaded. Your browser reads and edits the file locally. We never receive it.
What it can't do yet
- It opens .docx files only, not older .doc files.
- The editor is new, so some features are still incomplete. Save your work often.
- Editing also runs on phones, but the toolbar is easier to use on a larger screen or with the phone turned sideways.
Who runs it
Wrdio is built and maintained by an independent developer. The best way to reach us is the contact form. We read every message.
How it's paid for
Wrdio is free to use. We may show a small number of ads on guide pages to cover running costs. We keep ads away from the screens where you open and edit your documents.
